Frank van Riet is a Dutch historian and author who began writing at a young age with a local photo book. After joining the Rotterdam police in 1984, he researched Dutch policing history. He published works on WWII policing, Rotterdam and Westerbork, and earned a PhD in 2008 for his study on policing under German occupation.
